Working with The Society for UnderwaterTechnology (SUT) Fugro GEOS offers an Award of GBP500 for the best MSc projector thesis work in physical oceanography, applied oceanography and/ormeteorology. The winning MSc student for 2008 will be presented with the Awardon 31st March, the first day of the Ocean Careers 2009 event, being stagedalongside Ocean Business 2009 at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton.
Fugro GEOS believes in supporting andinvesting in education: to broaden the awareness of oceanography andmeteorology in the educational sector, to attract students into this sector, toencourage those already pursuing it and to highlight future career prospects tostudents.
“There could be no more logical place thanOcean Careers 2009 for the presentation of this Award,” says Garry Mardell,Operations Director at Fugro GEOS who will be making the award. “We aredelighted that the organisers invited us to use the event in this way, and arelooking forward to meeting the winning student on 31 March.”
